Foreign Minister Rana Departs for Canada

Kathmandu: Foreign Minister Dr. Arju Rana Deuba left for Canada this evening to attend the Women Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Toronto, scheduled for September 19-20. The event, co-hosted by Canada and Jamaica, will see the participation of women foreign ministers from over 15 countries.

At the meeting, Minister Rana will address topics related to women’s representation in public office, leadership, governance, and the challenges they face.

Following the Toronto event, Minister Rana will travel to the United States to join the Nepali delegation, led by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, for the 79th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York on September 21. She will also engage in bilateral discussions and address various forums during her stay.

Subsequently, she will lead the Nepali delegation to the Asia Cooperation Dialogue Summit in Doha, Qatar, from October 2-3, before returning to Nepal on October 4.
